Intensity

Intensity = Power = Work/Time = (Force x Distance)/Time

Yes, CrossFit workouts are intense.  Why??

Intensity gives you power.  Intensity gives you speed.  Intensity gives you results.

How intense is it??

CrossFit is intense by definition BUT you are responsible for pushing harder, faster, better.

 

Is it for you??

Yes! Everyone benefits from moving faster.  Everyone benefits from intensity.

"Any one can benefit from CrossFit training based on operating at the appropriate intensity....the relative level of an individual's power output is based solely upon that individual's psychology and physical tolerance."

 

                                 

Wrapping up October

The end of October is here!

A couple of reminders:

1.  Tonight is the last WOD at Johnson Field.  We will be bringing it back indoors for the winter so get out there and enjoy it!

2.  Next week our early morning class moves from 6:30 am to 6:00 am.  This should better accommodate work/class schedules.

Duke City Marathon and A Killer Saturday Workout!

The CFABQ Run Challenge has ended and everyone did a fantastic job!

We are especially proud of our Duke City Marathon participants.

Our Men's Relay Team placed 7th coming in at 3:28:47.  Our Mixed Relay Team placed 11th coming in at 3:37:59.

Our 5K runners were awesome as well!

Look for the next CFABQ Challenge coming in November.

News and Notes

High Five CFABQ!!!  Through hard work and shameless begging, you won the trophy!

That's right - CFABQ won the Fight Gone Bad IV regional trophy for the most money raised by area gyms with less than 25 competitors.  You guys ROCK!!!

Don't forget - Duke City Marathon this Sunday.  We have two relay teams and 4 5K runners.  Come on out and cheer us on!

And last but not least,

Don't forget to register for the Network Fitness Myofascial Coaches Clinic coming to CFABQ December 5 - 6.  The clinic costs $375 but prices will go up in November.  Non-members are welcome and pay an extra $25 at the door.

What will you learn?  

Certified coaches will be teaching SMR, functional movements, and stretching techniques to help you increase flexibility, improve athletic performance, and speed recovery.  You will learn to perform these techniques on yourself, as well as others, making this the perfect clinic for athletes, fitness buffs, and trainers alike.

 

Price includes two days of hands-on training, a 100-page booklet with instructions, and a kit containing two massage balls, a block, a quadroller and a footroller from Trigger Point Technologies.
